Baccarat - Everything But Ordinary

Baccarat

Transforming matter into an object of desire has been the calling and talent of Baccarat artisans for over 250 years, targeting perfection. In 1764 King Louis XV of France gave permission to found a glassworks in the town of Baccarat in the Lorraine region in eastern France to Prince Bishop Cardinal Louis-Joseph de Laval-Montmorency (1710-1802). Production originally consisted of window panes, mirrors and stemware until 1816 when the first crystal oven went into operation. Since then, Baccarat has built a worldwide reputation for making quality stemware, chandeliers, barware, and perfume bottles. Throughout the years Baccarat has had important collaborations with some of the most respected designers in the word such as Philippe Starck, Jamie Hayon, Marcel Wanders, Arik Levy and many more which has led to the creation of iconic pieces such as the Bon Jour Versailles and Candy table lamps.
