Inspired by the designer’s commissions for ocean liners between 1949 and 1951, the chair distils the spirit of mid-century seafaring into a timeless form—each version historically tailored to its specific vessel.

With its gently rounded contours, tapered legs, and balanced proportions, the D.151.4 captures Ponti’s singular ability to merge lightness with architectural rigour. Reintroduced with modern precision and upholstered in exclusive Rubelli fabrics, this armchair brings a touch of nautical heritage and Italian design mastery into contemporary interiors.

MATERIALS & DETAILS

Structure includes a solid fir wood seat with elastic straps and customised polyurethane padding, finished with a velveteen lining for added softness. The backrest is crafted with a steel frame and elastic webbing, padded in cold-moulded polyurethane foam for enduring support.

Feet in solid American walnut, fitted with a subtle brass guard and non-slip slides for floor protection.

Upholstery available in fabric or leather, offering a tailored, elevated aesthetic.
