Our Story
Everything But Ordinary began with a simple belief: the pieces chosen for a home should be selected with the same care as the architecture around them.
Our roots go back to 1984, when the family business began in a small British workshop crafting bespoke cabinetry for private clients. That foundation shaped a lasting respect for proportion, materials, detail and the quiet discipline of making things well.
As the business evolved into full interior architecture and design, we often found that furniture and lighting of the right calibre were harder to source than they should have been. Pieces with evident craftsmanship, considered proportion and architectural presence were difficult to find — and when they were found, the process was often fragmented, slow and unnecessarily difficult.
Everything But Ordinary was created in response: a curated destination for modern European furniture, lighting and objects, selected through the judgement of practising interior designers and supported by the clarity, care and product knowledge that considered projects require.
