Elevated on a finely tapered solid wood base, the Ortigia dining armchair by Flexform distills Italian cabinetmaking into a sculptural dining silhouette. Designed by Antonio Citterio, its open-back frame—crafted in Canaletto walnut or ashwood—supports a handwoven cowhide cord backrest, offering visual contrast and material tension.
A generously padded seat provides balanced comfort, upholstered in Flexform’s collection of leathers or fabrics. The structure and backrest are crafted from either solid canaletto walnut or ash, available in finishes like natural, stained walnut, teak, wenge, ebony, or brown. These are further enhanced by woven cowhide in various shades, such as natural, grey, dark brown, black, olive, Russian red, and tobacco. The feet are made of die-cast zama, and come in finishes like satin, chrome, burnished, black chrome, or glossy anthracite, all supported by thermoplastic tips. For added comfort, the seat features plywood cushioning filled with polyurethane foam and is covered in a protective laminated fabric.
