A quiet embodiment of unconditional love, Affection by Gardeco captures the profound bond between parent and child through softened curves and a tender, closed composition. Designed by Belgian artist Mieke Deweerdt, the sculpture creates an intimate presence within contemplative interiors, gallery-like spaces, or secluded garden settings.

Hand-cast in bronze and finished with a serene grey-blue patina, the piece reveals subtle textural variations that echo the human hand behind its creation. Rooted in Belgian sculptural traditions, it reflects Gardeco’s devotion to handcrafted sculptures that honour emotional resonance and material authenticity.

MATERIALS & DETAILS

Gardeco’s bronze sculptures are handmade by experienced craftsmen. Any size, weight, surface and colour variations are a proof of the artisanal production process. These variations add value and are therefore not to be considered defects. The patina colour may change over the years as a result of natural oxidation, contributing to the uniqueness of each piece.

Delivery within 1 - 2 Weeks

Once your order has been processed, this item will be shipped to our warehouse in the United Kingdom from the Gardeco factory in Belgium.

Once we have received your item into our warehouse, we will be in touch either by email or phone to arrange delivery to you.

Delivery options: United Kingdom

Standard Delivery (courier)

Standard Delivery is a courier delivery service suitable for smaller furniture items, and most lighting & accessory items. Once the items you've ordered are ready for dispatch from our warehouse, your order will be dispatched on a next day service.

This service does not include delivery into the property, assembly or unpacking. For larger items the driver may require assistance when unloading.

Platinum Delivery (white glove)

The delivery team will deliver your items to your room of choice and remove all the packaging for you. If required, all items will be assembled by the delivery team. Once the items have been received into our warehouse and are ready for delivery, our delivery team will be in touch to arrange delivery with you.

On-site installation is regrettably not available for lighting products or wall mounted goods such as, but not limited to shelving, mirrors, and pictures.

Click & Collect

Once your order has arrived in our warehouse, and the item(s) have been quality checked, we will contact you to let you know your order is ready for collection. Please remember to bring proof of purchase with you, such as your order confirmation email.

Meet the Designer

Mieke Deweerdt

Mieke Deweerdt (1981) has been fascinated with art from a very young age. She entered the Academy of Fine Arts in Bruges where she attended evening classes and later on the Technical Institute H. Family in Bruges to study Visual and Liberal Arts. Finally, in order to perfect her skill, she finished her studies in sculpture at the St. Lucas School of Arts in Ghent. Mieke’s work shows the interaction between humans, as well as the struggle and effort it takes to maintain balance to live together in harmony.
