A sculptural dialogue between strength and renewal, Hrund & Hildur Bookends by Gardeco channel Örn Þorsteinsson’s interpretation of Norse mythology into a commanding architectural presence. Inspired by warrior goddesses, this pair balances power and grace, anchoring curated interiors, private libraries, and contemplative spaces with mythic resonance.

Hand-cast in bronze using the lost-wax method, each piece reveals subtle textural detailing that honours Þorsteinsson’s artistry and the Nordic sculptural tradition. MATERIALS & DETAILS

Gardeco’s bronze pieces are handmade by experienced craftsmen. Any size, weight, surface and colour variations are a proof of the artisanal production process. These variations add value and are therefore not to be considered defects. The patina colour may change over the years as a result of natural oxidation, contributing to the uniqueness of each piece.

This product is made to order in the Gardeco factory in Belgium especially for you, with a production time of 2 - 4 weeks, therefore please expect delivery within 2 - 4 weeks from the date of order.

Delivery options: United Kingdom

Standard Delivery (courier)

Standard Delivery is a courier delivery service suitable for smaller furniture items, and most lighting & accessory items. Once the items you've ordered are ready for dispatch from our warehouse, your order will be dispatched on a next day service.

This service does not include delivery into the property, assembly or unpacking. For larger items the driver may require assistance when unloading.

Platinum Delivery (white glove)

The delivery team will deliver your items to your room of choice and remove all the packaging for you. If required, all items will be assembled by the delivery team. Once the items have been received into our warehouse and are ready for delivery, our delivery team will be in touch to arrange delivery with you.

On-site installation is regrettably not available for lighting products or wall mounted goods such as, but not limited to shelving, mirrors, and pictures.

Click & Collect

Once your order has arrived in our warehouse, and the item(s) have been quality checked, we will contact you to let you know your order is ready for collection. Please remember to bring proof of purchase with you, such as your order confirmation email.

Meet the Designer

Örn Porsteinsson

Örn Porsteinsson is an Icelandic sculptor, based in Reykjavík. He is primarily known for his monumental work that is on display at several public spaces in Iceland. For Gardeco however, Örn has designed a beautiful line of smaller sculptures, called the Travel Pieces. The artist initially carves his designs from disposable materials that are later on translated into ceramics and bronze by Gardeco. Porsteinsson’s sculptures have rounded biomorphic shapes that reminisce of the spectacular Icelandic landscape. The artist is also inspired by the Icelandic mythology, which is why each of his designs carries the name of a Norse God.
