First designed for the Planchart villa in 1950s Caracas, the D.154.2 armchair by Gio Ponti expresses sculptural clarity through a cocoon-like oval shell. Its continuous form curves with architectural softness, enclosing the sitter in a rhythm of balance, openness, and repose—ideal for interiors shaped by proportion and presence.

Reissued by Molteni&C as part of its Heritage Collection, the chair features a rigid polyurethane structure paired with a padded inner frame upholstered in curated velvet or textile options. Slender black chrome feet elevate the silhouette with visual lightness. A designer Italian armchair that unites mid-century form with contemporary material refinement.

Structure features a compact cold-moulded polyurethane shell with an internal electro-welded metal frame padded in flexible cold-moulded polyurethane.

Seat Cushion made from insert-shaped polyurethane and polyester fibre, lined with resin-treated bonded velveteen.

Feet in chromed steel with non-slip plastic floor slides for added stability.
