A sculptural reinterpretation of the traditional sewing basket, the Cestlavie storage basket by Poltrona Frau—designed by GamFratesi—elevates utility through meticulous craftsmanship and material integrity. The cylindrical form, wrapped entirely in hand-woven Saddle Extra leather, offers a tactile surface that reads as both ornamental and functional within refined architectural spaces.

Its removable lid, upholstered in Pelle Frau® leather, doubles as an elegant tabletop, allowing Cestlavie to shift seamlessly between storage and surface. Designed for living areas, dressing rooms, or private offices, this leather storage basket blends modern typology with artisanal fluency—an enduring accent that reflects Poltrona Frau’s legacy of form-led precision and domestic elegance.

MATERIALS & DETAILS

Structure features reinforced oval-section aluminium tubing, integrated with 12 moulded aluminium rods woven in Saddle Extra leather for strength and visual texture. Steel legs connect to the upper frame via moulded die-cast aluminium joints and are fitted with adjustable steel feet and protective felt pads.

Basket formed from 2 mm thick Saddle Extra leather strips, hand-stitched to a saddle leather base disk and finished with a transparent wax coating for added depth and durability.

Top and opening system includes two hinged MDF panels and a solid beech crossbar, all upholstered in tone-on-tone Pelle Frau® leather. The basket opens smoothly up to 180°, combining functionality with refined craftsmanship.

This product is made to order in the Poltrona Frau factory in Italy especially for you, with a production time of 6 - 8 weeks, therefore please expect delivery within 8 - 10 weeks from the date of order.

Delivery options: United Kingdom

Standard Delivery (courier)

Standard Delivery is a courier delivery service suitable for smaller furniture items, and most lighting & accessory items. Once the items you've ordered are ready for dispatch from our warehouse, your order will be dispatched on a next day service.

This service does not include delivery into the property, assembly or unpacking. For larger items the driver may require assistance when unloading.

Platinum Delivery (white glove)

The delivery team will deliver your items to your room of choice and remove all the packaging for you. If required, all items will be assembled by the delivery team. Once the items have been received into our warehouse and are ready for delivery, our delivery team will be in touch to arrange delivery with you.

On-site installation is regrettably not available for lighting products or wall mounted goods such as, but not limited to shelving, mirrors, and pictures.

Once your order has arrived in our warehouse, and the item(s) have been quality checked, we will contact you to let you know your order is ready for collection. Please remember to bring proof of purchase with you, such as your order confirmation email.
