A masterpiece of mid-century Italian design, the DU 55 Armchair by Poltrona Frau, designed by Gastone Rinaldi in 1954, blends sculptural elegance with modern comfort. Its fluid, organic silhouette is defined by a robust steel frame encased in moulded polyurethane foam, creating a perfect balance of structure and softness. With its distinctive curves, DU 55 transforms from a simple seat into a striking statement of refined craftsmanship.

Designed for both comfort and style, it features elastic belts in the seat and backrest for ergonomic support, resting on sleek chrome feet. Available in a selection of premium fabrics and Pelle Frau® leather, it embodies timeless sophistication for contemporary interiors.

MATERIALS & DETAILS

Built for maximum stability, the core structure is made of steel, featuring elastic belts in the suspension for flexible support and moulded polyurethane foam padding for enhanced comfort. The armchair sits on conical steel feet, protected by nylon caps, with a choice of three finishes: ash veneer with a teak stain and antique brass caps, black textured coating with a wrinkled effect and black caps, or a chromed polish with matching caps. Upholstery options include both leather and fabric, with removability available only for the fabric version.

This product is made to order in the Poltrona Frau factory in Italy especially for you, with a production time of 6 - 8 weeks, therefore please expect delivery within 8 - 10 weeks from the date of order.

Delivery options: United Kingdom

Standard Delivery (courier)

Standard Delivery is a courier delivery service suitable for smaller furniture items, and most lighting & accessory items. Once the items you've ordered are ready for dispatch from our warehouse, your order will be dispatched on a next day service.

This service does not include delivery into the property, assembly or unpacking. For larger items the driver may require assistance when unloading.

Platinum Delivery (white glove)

The delivery team will deliver your items to your room of choice and remove all the packaging for you. If required, all items will be assembled by the delivery team. Once the items have been received into our warehouse and are ready for delivery, our delivery team will be in touch to arrange delivery with you.

On-site installation is regrettably not available for lighting products or wall mounted goods such as, but not limited to shelving, mirrors, and pictures.

Click & Collect

Once your order has arrived in our warehouse, and the item(s) have been quality checked, we will contact you to let you know your order is ready for collection. Please remember to bring proof of purchase with you, such as your order confirmation email.
