Defined by its sculptural lightness and angular poise, the Fred desk by Poltrona Frau brings architectural refinement to bedroom workspaces and private home studies. Designed by Roberto Lazzeroni, its asymmetric top and tapering ash wood base express quiet tension, grounding the piece with visual clarity and spatial restraint.

The desktop is upholstered in saddle-leather, hand-detailed with cold markings and sealed dye edges that develop character over time. A single drawer in wengè-stained ash conceals soft-close metal runners, merging tactile richness with structural precision. Crafted in Italy, Fred embodies artisanal discipline through considered proportions and refined material contrasts.

MATERIALS & DETAILS

Structure made from solid ash wood with a triangular profile, available in wengè stain (32) or moka stain (61). Metal accessories are finished in galvanised gunmetal grey with a protective varnish.

Top crafted from an MDF panel with a scratch-resistant black lacquer, enhanced by soft hand-carved details and cold-pressed markings that create subtle graphic accents.

Covering made from a single 4 mm piece of Saddle Extra leather, applied without seams or divisions. The raw-cut edges are hand-painted in a matching tone and finished with protective wax for durability and refinement.

Drawer constructed from solid ash wood in matching wengè or moka stain. Assembled on soft-close metal runners, the drawer features a bevelled 45° front edge for effortless grip and seamless integration.

Aesthetic details include a curved Saddle leather drawer front, formed through a unique artisanal process without internal supports—demonstrating the brand’s mastery of material and form.

This product is made to order in the Poltrona Frau factory in Italy especially for you, with a production time of 6 - 8 weeks, therefore please expect delivery within 8 - 10 weeks from the date of order.

Delivery options: United Kingdom

Standard Delivery (courier)

Standard Delivery is a courier delivery service suitable for smaller furniture items, and most lighting & accessory items. Once the items you've ordered are ready for dispatch from our warehouse, your order will be dispatched on a next day service.

This service does not include delivery into the property, assembly or unpacking. For larger items the driver may require assistance when unloading.

Platinum Delivery (white glove)

The delivery team will deliver your items to your room of choice and remove all the packaging for you. If required, all items will be assembled by the delivery team. Once the items have been received into our warehouse and are ready for delivery, our delivery team will be in touch to arrange delivery with you.

On-site installation is regrettably not available for lighting products or wall mounted goods such as, but not limited to shelving, mirrors, and pictures.

Once your order has arrived in our warehouse, and the item(s) have been quality checked, we will contact you to let you know your order is ready for collection. Please remember to bring proof of purchase with you, such as your order confirmation email.
