Structured with absolute clarity, the Kyoto table by Poltrona Frau introduces linear refinement to dining areas, galleries, and contemplative interiors. Designed by Gianfranco Frattini in 1974, the rectangular form expresses architectural precision through its interlocking geometry and visible joinery.

Crafted in Italy from solid Canaletto walnut with exposed dovetail joints, the table eliminates all superfluous detail to emphasise material logic and balance. Canaletto walnut inserts articulate each joint with tonal variation and structural intent. Part of the Triennale Design Museum’s permanent collection, Kyoto reflects an enduring dialogue between Italian cabinet-making and Japanese restraint.

MATERIALS & DETAILS

Finishes available in two distinct combinations: natural extra-light solid beech with Canaletto walnut inserts at the top and leg ends, or matt black lacquer with bold red lacquered inserts. Both versions are treated with a transparent matt varnish to protect the wood’s natural texture and tone.

Structure crafted from extra-light solid beech wood, with square-patterned joints formed by precisely angled 45° connections. Slide-off counterpoise legs allow for flexible positioning and visual balance.

Aesthetic details include the Poltrona Frau logo and designer’s signature, laser-engraved onto one of the leg supports—subtle marks of craftsmanship and authenticity.

This product is made to order in the Poltrona Frau factory in Italy especially for you, with a production time of 6 - 8 weeks, therefore please expect delivery within 8 - 10 weeks from the date of order.

Standard Delivery (courier)

Standard Delivery is a courier delivery service suitable for smaller furniture items, and most lighting & accessory items. Once the items you've ordered are ready for dispatch from our warehouse, your order will be dispatched on a next day service.

This service does not include delivery into the property, assembly or unpacking. For larger items the driver may require assistance when unloading.

Platinum Delivery (white glove)

The delivery team will deliver your items to your room of choice and remove all the packaging for you. If required, all items will be assembled by the delivery team. Once the items have been received into our warehouse and are ready for delivery, our delivery team will be in touch to arrange delivery with you.

On-site installation is regrettably not available for lighting products or wall mounted goods such as, but not limited to shelving, mirrors, and pictures.

Once your order has arrived in our warehouse, and the item(s) have been quality checked, we will contact you to let you know your order is ready for collection. Please remember to bring proof of purchase with you, such as your order confirmation email.
