Defined by sculptural opacity and layered geometry, the Mi cabinet by Poltrona Frau introduces a dialogue between display and concealment across gallery spaces, formal dining rooms, and transitional interiors. Inspired by the Chinese pinyin for “to look” and “secret,” it features a tempered glass undertop that partially reveals the contents within—anchored by an architectural saddle-leather frame.

The interior houses two Canaletto walnut shelves—one fixed, one height-adjustable—while the marble top is available in Calacatta, Arabescato Venato, or Marquinia, with brilliant or semi-brilliant finishes. Crafted in Italy, Mi unites material refinement, cultural nuance, and functional clarity in a quietly expressive design.

MATERIALS & DETAILS

Top available in a curated selection of marbles, including brilliant and semi-brilliant finishes of Calacatta, Arabescato Venato, and Marquinia. The tempered glass overlay is elevated above the cabinet and supported by a burnished steel frame and an aluminium support panel with a coordinating burnished finish. A technical mesh beneath reinforces the structure for added durability.

Interior finished in Canaletto walnut veneer with two shelves—both framed in solid walnut. The upper shelf is fixed, while the lower shelf can be adjusted to three height levels. The single interior compartment offers practical storage in a refined layout.

Structure formed from a burnished steel tubular frame, which doubles as the cabinet’s base and integrated trolley handle. Sides are crafted from curved poplar plywood, while the base and back panels are made of birch plywood.

Doors consist of four panels in two book-style pairs, made from honeycomb board framed in birch plywood. Each closes securely with concealed magnets. A slim solid walnut trim along the top edge of the structure serves as a discreet handgrip.

This product is made to order in the Poltrona Frau factory in Italy especially for you, with a production time of 6 - 8 weeks, therefore please expect delivery within 8 - 10 weeks from the date of order.

Standard Delivery (courier)

Standard Delivery is a courier delivery service suitable for smaller furniture items, and most lighting & accessory items. Once the items you've ordered are ready for dispatch from our warehouse, your order will be dispatched on a next day service.

This service does not include delivery into the property, assembly or unpacking. For larger items the driver may require assistance when unloading.

Platinum Delivery (white glove)

The delivery team will deliver your items to your room of choice and remove all the packaging for you. If required, all items will be assembled by the delivery team. Once the items have been received into our warehouse and are ready for delivery, our delivery team will be in touch to arrange delivery with you.

On-site installation is regrettably not available for lighting products or wall mounted goods such as, but not limited to shelving, mirrors, and pictures.

Once your order has arrived in our warehouse, and the item(s) have been quality checked, we will contact you to let you know your order is ready for collection. Please remember to bring proof of purchase with you, such as your order confirmation email.
