We recommend that you choose a material that suits your lifestyle. Put simply:
- Ceramic tables are durable and contemporary, blending a high-end material with practicality.
- Solid wood tables are durable and timeless, showcasing the natural beauty of timber.
- Veneered wood tables are typically a more economical option compared to solid wood, while still being durable.
- Marble tables are luxurious but require more care.
- Glass tables add a modern touch and make rooms feel larger but they can show fingerprints.

Marble dining tables are elegant and luxurious but require more care than other materials. They can stain and are prone to scratches and damage from acidic substances, however, if you are ready for the upkeep, a marble table can create a stunning focal point in your dining room.
Alternatively, we offer a vast collection of marble-effect ceramic dining tables, which provide the marble look but are far more practical, as ceramic is highly resistant to heat, scratches and stains. If your heart is set on marble, we can sometimes offer an additional protective layer upon request.
If the table and chairs are ordered from the same manufacturer, this can allow for matching finishes on the base and legs for a cohesive look. However, it is not crucial for the base of the table to match the legs of the chairs. Mixing and matching chair styles can add uniqueness, but make sure they complement your dining area’s design. For long tables (rather than round or square), we often recommend chairs without arms on the long sides and chairs with armrests on the ends.
We generally recommend allowing a minimum of 65 cm of space per chair for those without armrests. For chairs with armrests, we suggest a minimum of 70 cm per chair. This ensures a comfortable seating experience and sufficient space for placemats per person during dining.
The standard height for a dining table is 71-76 cm from the floor to the tabletop. This works well with most dining chairs, leaving 25-30 cm of space between the chair seat and the tabletop for legroom. If your chairs have armrests, ensure there is enough space between the top of the armrest and the tabletop – 15 cm is typically ample.
Luxury dining tables are not just about style but comfort too. Take the time to make proper measurements so that your friends, family and guests can sit comfortably and enjoy the dining experience.
