Defined by its rounded profile and heritage detailing, the 2019 armchair by Poltrona Frau reinterprets the company’s 1919 classic with contemporary fluency. Designed with Roberto Lazzeroni, it preserves the sculptural capitonné backrest and pleated armrests while refining the form with softened contours and architectural poise.

Built on a solid beech frame with spring suspension and multi-density padding, the structure is upholstered in Pelle Frau® leather or fine fabric, offering deep comfort and tactile richness. 2019 bridges tradition and modernity—ideal for library corners, formal lounges, or interiors where craftsmanship, history, and silhouette converge in quiet authority.

MATERIALS & DETAILS

Supporting structure made from seasoned solid beech wood, ensuring long-lasting strength and artisanal integrity.

Suspension features biconical hand-tied steel springs secured to jute belts, offering traditional comfort and support.

Padding includes a rubberised horsehair seat, with the backrest and armrests hand-shaped using vegetable horsehair. Seat cushion is filled with goose down and a polyurethane foam insert for balanced softness and structure.

Upholstery available in Pelle Frau® leather: ColorSphere® (SC), Heritage, Nest, Soul, and Velvety collections. Upholstery is fixed and non-removable.

Aesthetic details include a handcrafted capitonné backrest and refined leather piping on the reverse, showcasing exceptional attention to detail.

This product is made to order in the Poltrona Frau factory in Italy especially for you, with a production time of 6 - 8 weeks, therefore please expect delivery within 8 - 10 weeks from the date of order.

These lead times are estimates, for your guidance and can be subject to change. A more accurate delivery estimate will be supplied to you by email within 14 days of your order being processed.

Delivery options: United Kingdom

Standard Delivery (courier)

Standard Delivery is a courier delivery service suitable for smaller furniture items, and most lighting & accessory items. Once the items you've ordered are ready for dispatch from our warehouse, your order will be dispatched on a next day service.

This service does not include delivery into the property, assembly or unpacking. For larger items the driver may require assistance when unloading.

Platinum Delivery (white glove)

The delivery team will deliver your items to your room of choice and remove all the packaging for you. If required, all items will be assembled by the delivery team. Once the items have been received into our warehouse and are ready for delivery, our delivery team will be in touch to arrange delivery with you.

On-site installation is regrettably not available for lighting products or wall mounted goods such as, but not limited to shelving, mirrors, and pictures.

Click & Collect

Once your order has arrived in our warehouse, and the item(s) have been quality checked, we will contact you to let you know your order is ready for collection. Please remember to bring proof of purchase with you, such as your order confirmation email.
