The Ming’s Heart Armchair by Poltrona Frau, crafted by Shi-Chieh Lu, elegantly bridges Eastern philosophy and Western design. It draws inspiration from the historic Ming chair, blending the spiritual essence of Chinese and Oriental culture with Western geometric styles. This fusion creates a piece that goes beyond functionality, offering multiple layers of meaning.

Constructed with a steel tube frame and a gunmetal grey finish, the armchair’s thin steel sheet shell is beautifully upholstered in Saddle Extra leather, detailed with contrasting stitching. Visible screws at the leather ends add an avant-garde flair. MATERIALS & DETAILS

Crafted from tubular steel, this armchair features a galvanised gunmetal grey finish extending to its metal feet. The lightly padded steel sheet shell is securely fastened to the tubular armrests and backrest with visible screws in the same finish. Upholstered in Saddle Extra leather, the design is further enhanced by contrasting stitching, although the upholstery is non-removable.

This product is made to order in the Poltrona Frau factory in Italy especially for you, with a production time of 6 - 8 weeks, therefore please expect delivery within 8 - 10 weeks from the date of order.

Standard Delivery (courier)

Standard Delivery is a courier delivery service suitable for smaller furniture items, and most lighting & accessory items. Once the items you've ordered are ready for dispatch from our warehouse, your order will be dispatched on a next day service.

This service does not include delivery into the property, assembly or unpacking. For larger items the driver may require assistance when unloading.

Platinum Delivery (white glove)

The delivery team will deliver your items to your room of choice and remove all the packaging for you. If required, all items will be assembled by the delivery team. Once the items have been received into our warehouse and are ready for delivery, our delivery team will be in touch to arrange delivery with you.

On-site installation is regrettably not available for lighting products or wall mounted goods such as, but not limited to shelving, mirrors, and pictures.

About Shi-Chieh Lu

Shi-Chieh Lu was born in 1965, Taipei, Taiwan. Bachelor Architecture degree in Tung-Hai University, Taiwan. Master Degree in Architecture from Architectural Association, London, in 1993. He worked for Raoul Bunschoten in 1994. He was selected from 5 talented designers and reported in a special edition to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the US magazine “Interior Design”. His artwork “Signscape” was exhibited at the 11th “International Architecture Exhibiton” of the “Venice Biennial” (Taiwan Pavilion) and at the 6th “City on the Move” Art Festival at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Taipei.
