Sculptural yet understated, the Leplì dining chair by Kensaku Oshiro expresses Poltrona Frau’s craftsmanship through refined curvature and couture-inspired detailing. Clad entirely in Pelle Frau® leather, its softly contoured silhouette is accentuated by delicate folds and precise stitching—subtle references to tailoring tradition.

The slender backrest and generous seat are proportioned for comfort, supported by an internal structure in birch, poplar, and Polimex® composite for strength without visual bulk. Available with a fixed base, concealed 360° swivel return, or discreet wheels, Leplì transitions seamlessly between dining spaces, home offices, or dressing areas—uniting material integrity with timeless Italian design.

MATERIALS & DETAILS

The upholstery is fully upholstered in Pelle Frau® leather, available in ColorSphere® (SC), Nest, or Soulful. Removability is not possible, ensuring a seamless, durable finish.

Models: Fixed chair, chair with wheels, swivel chair with “back to position” mechanism.

The structure combines Polimex® and poplar plywood for the backrest, with birch plywood and MDF for the seat. The base structure uses birch plywood with kraft cardboard padding, and the decorative band is made of birch and poplar plywood, always matching the chair color.

Swivel versions include a “return” mechanism, allowing 360° rotation and automatic return to the starting position. The base (for fixed and swivel versions) is made of black-painted MDF.

The wheels (for applicable versions) include five pivoting wheels integrated into the base for easy mobility.

This product is made to order in the Poltrona Frau factory in Italy especially for you, with a production time of 6 - 8 weeks, therefore please expect delivery within 8 - 10 weeks from the date of order.

Delivery options: United Kingdom

Standard Delivery (courier)

Standard Delivery is a courier delivery service suitable for smaller furniture items, and most lighting & accessory items. Once the items you've ordered are ready for dispatch from our warehouse, your order will be dispatched on a next day service.

This service does not include delivery into the property, assembly or unpacking. For larger items the driver may require assistance when unloading.

Platinum Delivery (white glove)

The delivery team will deliver your items to your room of choice and remove all the packaging for you. If required, all items will be assembled by the delivery team. Once the items have been received into our warehouse and are ready for delivery, our delivery team will be in touch to arrange delivery with you.

On-site installation is regrettably not available for lighting products or wall mounted goods such as, but not limited to shelving, mirrors, and pictures.

Click & Collect

Once your order has arrived in our warehouse, and the item(s) have been quality checked, we will contact you to let you know your order is ready for collection. Please remember to bring proof of purchase with you, such as your order confirmation email.

Meet the Designer

Kensaku Oshiro

Kensaku Oshiro was born in Okinawa, Japan, in 1977. Since 1999, after receiving a Master degree in Industrial Design at “Scuola Politecnica di Design” in Milan, he began working with several practices until 2004. He suddenly joined the design team of Lissoni Associati studio, with whom he worked until mid-2012. In the second half of 2012 he moved to London to work with BarberOsgerby.
