Composed with layered opacity and balanced volume, the Mi sideboard by Poltrona Frau introduces visual rhythm to formal dining rooms, transitional spaces, and gallery-style interiors. Designed by Neri & Hu, its oblong structure draws on the dual meaning of “Mi”—to look, and to keep a secret—revealing contents subtly through shadow and light.

Tempered glass side panels are framed by a lacquered wood body, crowned with a monolithic top in Calacatta, Arabescato Venato, or Marquinia marble. Crafted in Italy, Mi reflects Poltrona Frau’s pursuit of material balance, architectural clarity, and refined concealment within a sculptural domestic form.

MATERIALS & DETAILS

Top available in a selection of exquisite marble finishes, including brilliant and semi-brilliant options of Calacatta, Arabescato Venato, and Marquinia. The elevated tempered glass layer is supported by a burnished steel frame and an aluminium reinforcement panel, with a technical mesh beneath for added strength and stability.

Interior lined with Canaletto walnut veneer and divided into two symmetrical compartments. Each compartment features a fixed shelf made from veneered Canaletto walnut with a matching solid wood edge, offering refined storage and visual harmony.

Structure defined by a burnished steel tubular frame that functions as both the base and a sleek integrated trolley handle. Sides are crafted from elegantly curved poplar plywood, while the bottom and rear panels are made of birch plywood for structural integrity.

Doors consist of four panels arranged in two book-like pairs, constructed from honeycomb core and framed in birch plywood. They close securely with concealed magnets, and a solid Canaletto walnut trim along the top edge doubles as a discreet grip for opening.
