Originally designed in 1961 by Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni, the Sanluca armchair by Poltrona Frau reimagines the lounge chair as sculptural architecture. Its double-profile silhouette curves inward and upward, enclosing the body in a spatial rhythm of tension and release—ideal for reading rooms, creative studios, and curated interiors.
Formed from layered moulded wood, the frame supports minimal polyurethane padding upholstered in Pelle Frau® leather or fabric. The optional Luca pouf, introduced in 1991, completes the composition. Defined by ergonomic innovation and historical clarity, Sanluca exemplifies the Castiglionis’ design ethos—where functionality is distilled into pure, expressive form.
