A contemporary reimagining of the classic four-poster bed, the Volare bed by Poltrona Frau, designed by Roberto Lazzeroni, is defined by its tapering ash wood canopy, finished in moka or wengè. The airy frame creates architectural symmetry, balancing bold lines with a refined silhouette suited to spacious, luxury interiors.

Upholstered in Saddle Extra leather or Pelle Frau®, the frame and padded headboard showcase precision detailing, including gunmetal grey eyelets, leather belts, and branded metal buttons. Two removable cushions, fastened to the headboard, enhance both comfort and visual rhythm—underscoring Poltrona Frau’s commitment to artisan craftsmanship and timeless design.

MATERIALS & DETAILS

Upholstery available in Pelle Frau® leather or Saddle Extra leather, fully wrapping the bed frame and footboard. If upholstered in fabric, trim and headboard cushion belts remain in matching Pelle Frau® leather for refined contrast. The headboard cushion is padded with polyester wadding and cotton cloth and accented by two attached cushions, secured via leather belts threaded through gunmetal grey metal eyelets and buttons.

Headboard constructed from solid beech, reinforced with birch plywood crossbars and hardboard infill panels.

Poster frame made from solid ash with a distinctive triangular profile, finished in a moka stain that tapers elegantly upwards.

Feet & Connections frame secured with gunmetal grey steel spacers and plates. All visible metal elements are finished to complement the upholstery detailing.

Structure reinforced with a central steel crossbar, corner plates, and other internal components in black-painted steel.

Base includes two Vespero slatted platforms made from steam-curved, pressed beech plywood with plastic suspension joints for enhanced ventilation and mattress support.

This product is made to order in the Poltrona Frau factory in Italy especially for you, with a production time of 6 - 8 weeks, therefore please expect delivery within 8 - 10 weeks from the date of order.

Delivery options: United Kingdom

Standard Delivery (courier)

Standard Delivery is a courier delivery service suitable for smaller furniture items, and most lighting & accessory items. Once the items you've ordered are ready for dispatch from our warehouse, your order will be dispatched on a next day service.

This service does not include delivery into the property, assembly or unpacking. For larger items the driver may require assistance when unloading.

Platinum Delivery (white glove)

The delivery team will deliver your items to your room of choice and remove all the packaging for you. If required, all items will be assembled by the delivery team. Once the items have been received into our warehouse and are ready for delivery, our delivery team will be in touch to arrange delivery with you.

On-site installation is regrettably not available for lighting products or wall mounted goods such as, but not limited to shelving, mirrors, and pictures.

Click & Collect

Once your order has arrived in our warehouse, and the item(s) have been quality checked, we will contact you to let you know your order is ready for collection. Please remember to bring proof of purchase with you, such as your order confirmation email.
