Composed with sculptural restraint, the Assaya swivel armchair by Poltrona Frau reflects designer Satyendra Pakhalé’s pursuit of comfort through cultural nuance. Its enveloping shell—named from the Marathi word for “reflection”—traces a quiet arc of movement, equally at home in residential lounges or executive interiors.

Upholstered in Pelle Frau® leather or refined fabric, the design rests on a discreet swivel base that enables fluid transitions without disrupting its poised silhouette. Expertly tailored stitching accentuates the armchair’s form, while multi-density padding ensures enduring support. A synthesis of functionality and elegance, Assaya embodies the evolving rhythm of contemporary living.

MATERIALS & DETAILS

Structure of the backrest and armrests is formed from a single shell in moulded rigid polyurethane, while the seat structure is crafted from seasoned beech wood for durability.

Suspension features elastic belts to provide responsive support and seated comfort.

Padding made from polyurethane foam and polyester wadding, offering a refined balance of softness and structure.

Base is a steel plate in an aluminium-coloured finish, equipped with a swivel mechanism allowing 360° rotation and automatic return to the starting position.

Upholstery features Saddle Extra leather for the outer shell, paired with Pelle Frau® ColorSphere® (SC), Nest, Soul, Velvety or Fabric A or B for the inner seat and surfaces. Upholstery is fixed and not removable.

Aesthetic details include elegant contrast stitching along the perimeter of the saddle-leather shell, enhancing its artisanal character.

This product is made to order in the Poltrona Frau factory in Italy especially for you, with a production time of 6 - 8 weeks, therefore please expect delivery within 8 - 10 weeks from the date of order.

Standard Delivery (courier)

Standard Delivery is a courier delivery service suitable for smaller furniture items, and most lighting & accessory items. Once the items you've ordered are ready for dispatch from our warehouse, your order will be dispatched on a next day service.

This service does not include delivery into the property, assembly or unpacking. For larger items the driver may require assistance when unloading.

Platinum Delivery (white glove)

The delivery team will deliver your items to your room of choice and remove all the packaging for you. If required, all items will be assembled by the delivery team. Once the items have been received into our warehouse and are ready for delivery, our delivery team will be in touch to arrange delivery with you.

On-site installation is regrettably not available for lighting products or wall mounted goods such as, but not limited to shelving, mirrors, and pictures.

Once your order has arrived in our warehouse, and the item(s) have been quality checked, we will contact you to let you know your order is ready for collection. Please remember to bring proof of purchase with you, such as your order confirmation email.

Satyendra Pakhalé

Multifaceted award-winning industrial designer Satyendra Pakhalé established his practice in 1998 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands and is active internationally in the field of Industrial Design, Transportation and Architectural Design. He was born in 1967 in India and trained as a designer at the renowned IIT – Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay and later at Art Centre College of Design Europe, in Switzerland.
